When Disney started thinking about more innovative ways of distributing theme park tickets to not for profits and schools, Disney engaged Points of Light to help them redevelop their program to give it more social meaning. Points of Light designed a new program where schools and not for profits develop their own volunteer projects that have at least 15 participants – and where possible involvement of families is encouraged. Projects are submitted through a website that becomes the hub for managing and tracking the volunteer projects. The more volunteers participated, the more tickets the organisations earn.
