The recent bushfire crisis has shown how important it is to be able to access multiple sources of emergency information, including sources that can be accessed from a mobile device. As part of Leep’s continuing efforts to close the digital divide, there will be a workshop in Lithgow on 01 February to help community members connect to emergency information sources online.
Community members are invited to attend a drop-in style session, where volunteer tech mates will offer one-on-one help downloading and using apps and sites such as Fires Near Me, LiveTraffic NSW, and community pages on social media. Information will also be available on how to stay safe from scams that have arisen in the bushfire recovery efforts. This session will be the first workshop offered in Lithgow, where we have recently launched a mentoring hub.
