Mobile phone users from nations of emerging economies face challenges ranging from signal range, high cost of the device and data plan, and lack of devices written in their own language. Security concerns are also prevalent among mobile phone users, with many reporting concerns about stolen devices or identity theft. However, the use of mobile phones in emerging economies continues to grow, despite many non-users reporting that mobile phones are too complicated or that the level of literacy required was a barrier.
