Digital Literacy Program Offers Help Breaking Down Barriers to the Internet

A new digital literacy program run by “TechKNOWtutors” has been launched by the Community Sector Council of Newfoundland and Labrador in Canada.

Trainers are offering drop-in sessions and scheduled classes aimed to build learner’s digital skills. The program’s coordinator recognises that a fear of the internet is a huge issue and the trainers make the internet not so scary. The program also offers webinars and e-newsletters to tackle specific topics such as how to use restaurant self service kiosks and how to spot misleading or false news stories.
