‘He Really Struck A Chord’: Clean Up Australia Going Strong After 30 Years

Clean Up Australia has logged over 35 million volunteer hours since its first event in 1990 and has inspired other environmentally-conscious initiatives.

This year Clean Up Australia hopes to have 700,000 participants, up from 600,000 in 2019. Volunteers recognise that this year in particular has special meaning due to the recent bushfire crisis. Clean Up Australia and other initiatives empower everyday Australians to make a difference in their local communities, and bring people together in the wake of the physical and emotional impacts of the fires.
