‘Avoid Being Scammed – Tips for Seniors’ aims to inform seniors of the risks and how to avoid being scammed.

A high number of scams targeting the elderly in the Bathurst region has prompted the town to organise a campaign to help protect seniors from fraud. The program was developed by Bathurst Regional Council and Bathurst Community Safety Committee and is endorsed by NSW Police and Chifley Local Area Command. Scammers are more regularly targeting seniors, taking advantage of their often more trusting nature and lower confidence in digital skills. The campaign will include a packet of information sent to every letterbox.
