Concerns elderly Aussies ‘disadvantaged’ in government’s WhatsApp initiative

The government has launched an official WhatsApp chat and Coronavirus Australia smartphone application.  

With many older Australians having little or no digital ability to download the app and an inherent fear of using technology, Leep joins many in the community concerned for the older Australians who may have been forgotten with this initiative. Those who need this app the most, to prevent them from being at risk of becoming ill, are the ones unable to access the information.  Leep is calling for a national awareness campaign that addresses people’s fear of adopting technology and promotes a positive message regarding technology as our friend.
