Digital divide for NSW low-income earners

There are concerns COVID-19 will exacerbate the digital divide, with almost a third of low-income earners in NSW limiting their mobile phone use for financial reasons.  

The NSW Council of Social Service (NCOSS) says there is a digital divide in NSW and it is those with lower incomes, living with a disability or relying on government payments who are most affected. These access issues are aggravated by the COVID-19 outbreak.
