How technology could be a solution to caregiver shortage for seniors

70% of American seniors are digitally connected, with the internet forming an integral part of their daily lives. Seniors are using the internet to stay informed and connected, shop online and plan for travel. Apps like Medisafe, Google Maps and Lumosity are also increasing in popularity with the older population.  

This technological literacy will certainly come in handy in the coming years as it is predicted thatby 2050, the ratio of caregivers to seniors needing care could drop to three to one. This mismatch reveals the need for the aging population to adapt to technologies like wearable and smart home devices.
