Self Care for Volunteers

It is important for volunteers to have strategies and techniques to take care of themselves in sometimes traumatic circumstances and situations. This training has been specifically designed to help volunteers to avoid burning out and from developing compassion fatigue.Sustainable volunteering is effective volunteering, meaning that self-care is vital to maintaining overall health, wellbeing and capacity as a volunteer.

• Identifying compassion fatigue and burn out in yourself and others
• How to develop a self-care plan
• Sustainable volunteering
This training is free for all volunteers working or living in the following local government areas; The Blue Mountains, Blacktown, Penrith, Hawkesbury, Parramatta, or Cumberland City Councils.
